Fake Wedding Celebrations for Treasure State Hostel Employees
With my positions working as manger at Treasure State Hostel (TSH), I meet so many amazing people, from staff to guests. The staff turnover can be pretty short and quick. With only a month minimum stay for staff, some stay a month and move on, others stay a few months before they also move on. Guests can stay a day or some stay for a couple weeks. Either way, it doesn't seem to matter the length of someone's stay, they seem to leave memories that last a like time! When it came time for Elo and Emma to leave TSH, they decided to go out in the most brilliant way that fit both of their personalities, by having a fake wedding to celebrate their friend ship that they made at TSH! While they both arrived at TSH without knowing each other, they left with plans to travel together for the next few months! The bonding that comes from TSH is far from anything I have ever experienced. It's a situation where workers are volunteering at the hostel in exchange for their stay at the hostel. Its a wonderful opportunity that can be discovered through the Workaway program.
As crazy as it seems, this going away celebration was so phenomenal that it included a pre-wedding tailgate, wedding ceremony, and a reception! None of it was official of course, but it was such a fun way for staff and guests to hang out. While I did photograph the pre-weeding tailgate, I didn't photograph the ceremony or reception. I wanted to enjoy my self, not work it all! Sometimes its nice to be able to put the camera down and live in the moment with everyone else. (This was not a paid session, just for fun!) So enjoy the chaos of photos that have been created from the pre-wedding tailgate!
Oh, and the wedding was themed.... The theme, I am not exactly sure actually, but it involved everyone dressing up in some interesting outfits!
